The sale of knives
It is an offence for any person under the age of 16 years
to purchase most kinds of knives. We shall only supply knives
and related equipment to customers over the age of 16 years.
The sale of knives is regulated by Laws and subject to our
terms and conditions of sale.
We
reserve the right to refuse the sale if we have reasonable
cause to believe that the prospective customer is below the
age of 16 years, or if we believe that the supply of goods
to the prospective customer may infringe the Law or present
an unacceptable potential risk to the safety of others.
Our
main goal is to promote the safe use of specialist tools and
for this reason we always take steps to ensure that our knives
and tools are promoted in a responsible manner.
Sizing guide
Footwear
Boots and Shoes. Do they fit? Good, comfortable footwear enhances
the enjoyment of your walking. Trust us to help you in your
choice as manufacturer's fittings vary. Feet can expand over
a quarter size during a full day's walk so ensure you get
the right fit.
Sandals
Sandals are designed to protrude about a half a centimeter
beyond your foot to avoid toe stubbing. Ideal for traveling,
walking, tracks, beaches and pavements but do not expect the
protection or ankle support that you would get from your boots.
European
/ UK sizing
Some models are available in European sizes, some in UK sizes
don't worry! If in doubt, use our helpline.

Principles
Method
1
Imagine your foot suspended in the boot from the ankle. Imagine
a half-centimeter gap surrounding your foot, top, bottom,
sides, back and front. This gap is then partly filled by a
loop-stitch walking sock. You must still have room for your
foot to expand about a quarter of a size during a day's walk.
Method
2
With laces undone, push your foot forward in the boot until
you feel your toe at the end. If you can easily insert your
index finger down the back of the heel the boot size should
be correct. Fit can be adjusted to an extent by the tightness
of the laces. Wear the boots indoors on a carpet for twenty
minutes or so to satisfy yourself the fit is correct before
you go outdoors. We are happy to exchange footwear which has
not been used.
Clothing
We have tested almost every item in our selected clothing
range and can therefore recommend each garment. Walking gear
should be comfortable, not too tight, wash easily and dry
